When comparing installers for air conditioning or heat pumps that involve refrigerant work, ask for evidence of both the engineer's qualification and the company's certification. The refrigerant circuit is not something a householder should open. Keep the service records the engineer provides, including any leak checks, with the equipment's documentation.
