Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan in practice
Home Energy Scotland administers the Scottish Government's grant and loan for owner-occupiers. It can fund air, ground and water source heat pumps and a range of insulation measures, with additional support for rural and island homes. Funding is allocated on a first come, first served basis, and renewable systems must be installed by an MCS installer using certified products.
Because the Boiler Upgrade Scheme covers only England and Wales, this is the main route for homeowners in Scotland. Some measures require a valid Energy Performance Certificate before funding is approved.
